The other night, we were supposed to have a supermoon and eventful meteorological night. At least that's what I saw on Facebook.
I have to share with you this amazing app. My dad found it.
This app uses your location to show you where the stars and planets are. It works in all weather and any time of day. It's amazing!
We ran outside with our iPad. That night, we could see two planets (with our eyes). We held the iPad up to the dots in the sky. The app showed us that we were looking at Mars and Venus. The kids FREAKED out with excitement. They were moving the iPad all around, stopping at the constellations. They would read about them, then move on. They found a bunch of super cool things in the night sky! Buddy made a list to bring to school the next day. He wanted to share his findings with the class. Rea saw a shooting star while Buddy was searching the galaxy. That was pretty awesome. I wish I had seen it.
I suppose a trip to the Kennedy Space Center is in our future. Woo hoo!
