I've never been a huge fan of the fair.
My parents have taken Reagan and Riley once or twice to the South Florida Fair when they were really little. Neither remembers any of it.
Fast forward to 2019. Since living in Nashville, we have heard from several people that the Wilson County Fair is a great one. One of the best in the entire state. So when my cousin asked if we would be interested in meeting them there one afternoon, we said YES.
Riley was a bit uncomfortable at first. Fear of the unknown maybe? General dislike of being outside? Unable to be on his iPad ignoring all of us? The million degree temps? Who knows.
It did not take long for both big kids to loosen up and have some fun.
Rides and Food
Hands down, the best part of the fair is the food! The Wilson County Fair did not disappoint. Riley was excited to find giant sno cones (and they are safe for him to eat). Reagan and Stu destroyed a turkey leg. I opted for the traditional funnel cake.
Remy actually LOVED Riley's sno cone. It was blazing hot, and I felt bad for the little guy. We kept giving him water to drink. But it did not take long for him to lose his mind in the heat. He had flushed red cheeks. I was worried about him dehydrating, so we left prematurely. Reagan stayed with cousins to ride rides for a few more hours.
We are already looking forward to next year. I think we will go later in the day though, sunset probably.
