So we tried camping.
It was an adventure for sure. I get sucked into those RV shows on GAC and think "I could totally live in an RV, travel the county and see the sights." After having spent one night in a pop-up camper, I am not convinced I could do full-time. Maybe if I had a $200k Class A... but that's neither here nor there.

So far it seems all we do in Nashville is eat... Well, the southern cookin' is dang good.
Uncle Bud's, located in Donelson, is the best place for fried anything. Stu gets the fried catfish. Reagan ordered fried chicken. Riley ordered grilled chicken (egg allergy). And I asked for the fried gator. The sides are delivered family-style shortly after you sit down. The beans and hush puppies are amazing!
Yes Dad, we will take you here when you come visit. =)
I've never been a huge fan of the fair.
My parents have taken Reagan and Riley once or twice to the South Florida Fair when they were really little. Neither remembers any of it. Fast forward to 2019. Since living in Nashville, we have heard from several people that the Wilson County Fair is a great one. One of the best in the entire state. So when my cousin asked if we would be interested in meeting them there one afternoon, we said YES.
One of the things I have been most excited about is the Nashville weather. It's still summer, so we are rocking high 80s/low 90s most days. But one day, the temps will drop. I hear fall is an incredible time of year.
The house we moved into has a fantastic backyard. Stu has grand plans for outdoor activities. I prefer to get out of the house whenever possible. The kids get kind of stir crazy if we don't go somewhere each day.
Apparently there is this sidewalk system that runs around our new city. It's called the Nashville Greenway. There are many spots to hop on and off the trail. One such spot is fairly close to our house. So, I piled the monsters into the car, along with the jogging stroller, and headed off in search of some natural beauty.
We couldn't go too far down the path. It had rained recently and the Stones River overflowed, covering the Greenway. And also one of my kids complained the ENTIRE time (Care to guess which one?).
But we will be back. Let's wait until the temps drop a bit. |
