Snow Cone Fun

Snow Cones are delicious
As I am sure you know, Riley is allergic to eggs. Poor kid, he's not allowed to have cake, cookies and other goodies. It's not worth the hospital visit. Over the years, we have had to be creative with dessert options. My mom has made a few egg-free cakes, but he's too nervous to try them.

There is one dessert Riley adores.

Snow Cones!

Riley has had his eye on snatching my mom's snow cone maker... so obviously, we needed one of our own.
This machine is awesome. It is so easy to use. We simply love it. Now I literally have no excuse to not to make snow cones all the time.

Last Pool Party Before School

I can't believe I am so behind on posting this one. But that's life, right?

When my cousin Alex and his fiancé were in town, my mom hosted another Sunday Puppy Pool Playdate. It seems like we are always splashing around with the crazy pups.

So, in honor of school starting this week, I give you our last HOORAY in photo form:

Fun Fact: Abby HATES the pool. Poor girl. She does not appreciate the personal floatie we give her and the special attention. We even let her in the pool before opening the gate for Z.

First Weekend of July Recap

Because the 4th was on a Tuesday this year, the holiday weekend felt like it lasted FOREVER.

Don't get me wrong. We had a really awesome weekend. It was busy. There was a lot of adulting happening. There was a fair amount a whining. There was a LOT of eating.

Date Night

Let's begin on Friday. The monsters spent the night with Stu's parents. And that means DATE NIGHT! Woo hoo! my favorite night of the month. I don't have to cook. We go someplace nice (usually). And we actually get to speak to each other during dinner... no one is interrupting. It's awesome.

This week, we went to Hokkaido for hibachi! I love this stuff. But we can never eat here as a family because Riley is allergic to eggs and soy. So, nothing oriental for our family. Stu and I usually spring for sushi on date night for that very reason.

Our 4th of July on the 1st of July

Sounds confusing. But our town celebrated the 4th on the 1st this year. The town square (yes, we have one of those, and it is an actual square) party began in the afternoon. But we waited until after dinner to head down.

Thank you (again) to all of the men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedoms. We know freedom is not free. It comes at a steep cost. We do not take it for granted.

We packed SO much fun and crazy into one weekend. It was a bit insane. Anyway, let's jump right in and recap these crazy four days.

Friday Night

Reagan was going through withdrawal. She really needed her besties.

I can relate... I miss mine. But that's a whole other thing.

So we invited her BFFs over for a sleepover. We took the girls to our (new) favorite pizza joint - Aunt Mary's.

We literally live in the pool during the summer. Actually, since we installed a heater last year, we have spent countless weekends in it as well.

This is my new favorite picture:

How cool is that? The view from our new waterslide*.

Stu played around with the GoPro in the pool. He got some awesome video shots of the Beast and her beloved frisbees.
*How long will I refer to the slide as being new? In case you were wondering, we picked this thing up from Sams Club... And the super awesome floaties are from Sams as well.
