Halloween 2017 was a Success

Well, that was fun.

I seriously cannot believe how fast this year is blowing by! It doesn't seem possible that it's already November. And yet it is.

Halloween was a howling good time. We stretched it out for as long as possible.

Spooking the house

First things first. The house has to be decorated.

This is might be my favorite part. It's like the house gets to wear a fun costume for a month! Actually, I began spooking ours when September appeared on the calendar.

Little things appeared first... like the pumpkins in front of the TV, the photographs on the walls were swapped out for Halloween-related ones, the kids' bathroom was transformed.

I found this little guy (and his not-pictured buddy) at Publix!

Holiday frames are so fun. Riley made this in pre-k or WOW. I LOVE it.

Hallway to the kids' rooms... Link for the chevron shower curtain is at the bottom of this post.

The "eek" and dishtowels are from the Target Dollar section.
The kitchen dishtowels were changed.

Our dining room tablecloth was skeletons for nearly two months. The flower centerpiece was the perfect deadly mood setter.

As the Boo Bash neared, we kicked the decor into overdrive. The floaties came out. The coffin was brought in and set up. Stu hung orange lights in the foyer to instantly set the mood.

Flowers are from Michaels. I'm obsessed with the look. And the tablecloth is from Target.

Oh the bats. The bats look amazing, right?

I ordered these little guys off Amazon (as I do with about 50% of my life). I was surprised to see how tiny they were when they arrived. I ordered 48 bats because we have really high ceilings and I figured I'd put them everywhere. That plan was shelved when I saw how small they are. I think they turned out great.

I've included a link for these at the end of this post, but I have to warn you: do NOT use the tape they come with! It literally ripped the paint off my walls! Next year, we will be hanging these guys with a different tape.

Those adorable little tombstones are from Disney's Haunted Mansion.

StuCrew Boo Bash 2017

Oh, the weather... the skies had been clear, the humidity minimal every day leading up to the party. Then the heavens opened. With a vengeance. It started pouring about an hour before guests arrived. And it didn't stop.

That didn't slow us down too much.

My biggest fail was the stunning LACK of photos from the party. I did not break the camera out at all. There are no pictures of the StuCrew in costume. *eye roll* Below are the only pics from the night:

Riley was Foxy from some game/YouTube vids he watches. Here he is being crazy (normal) with his buddy Captain America.

I was a skeleton... I forgot how much make up I had on.

Somehow we ended up with like 50+ cupcakes!
The frame on the table says "One cupcake has been poisoned. Enjoy your night!" One of the kids came up to me at the party and whispered, "Which cupcake is the bad one? I don't want to eat that one."

Reagan was Harley Quinn. Cinderella is her biggest fan. <3

This family (for sure) wins the night! They look amazing! Some of the littles at the party were convinced this was the real Maui.

Trick or Treat

By the time Tuesday rolled around, we had recovered from the Boo Bash.
It was time to TRICK OR TREAT! We weren't sure how our 'hood would be... it's still relatively new. Word on the street was a neighboring hood was the place to go. Word was right.

But first, we had an impromptu photoshoot while waiting for Daddy.

Riley's photobomb is on point.

Trick or treating was fun... but the kids really wanted to go home and pass out candy. So we left after making it up and down one street.

Simply put: We had a GREAT Halloween! I can't wait for next year... although Stu, we need to step up our yard game.
