The time for action is now. I'm done talking, wishing, hoping...
The Whole 30 kicked me into gear. It was the perfect boost for me. Although, after looking at pictures of me from ourbig family vacation, I knew without a doubt something had to be done. I looked as though I'd been retaining water for decades. Ugh. A big, bloated blob.
Because my husband did the Whole 30 too, he has been a great in-house motivator for me. It's been good to have him eating the same stuff, sticking to the plan, keeping me in line, encouraging me to walk/run too. He's going through the exact same thing right now. And that definitely helps me.
My sisters are encouraging too. For months we've been joking in text messages that if we were murdered and the police had to outline our bodies, we'd resemble chalk circles instead of detailed bodies. One of my sisters started using #NoMoreCircles in all of our fitness/diet related social media posts. That sparked my sister-in-law to create the No More Circles Movement. This positive peer pressure has helped me stick to a healthier plan. Side note: If you want to join the movement and laugh at us, follow on Instagram and Twitter, and tag your posts with #No_More_Circles
So, what is my plan?
Glad you asked.
I plan to continue eating Whole 30 / Paleo.
After morning drop-off (as long as my schedule allows) I will be out walking. This morning I did nearly 3.5 miles. It is so hot out (and I am so out of shape) that I don't need to run to push my heart into peak cardio mode. Kind of sad, but I am going to look at it as a blessing.
My goal is to hit 12,000 steps each day (I nailed that at 1:30pm today). I am super obsessed with my Fitbit. Stu gave it to me as an anniversary gift (I asked for it a while ago). And I look at it constantly. I like that at any given moment I can see my step count and heart rate.
I am 7 pounds into my 40 pound weight loss goal. And I am pretty proud of that.
Below are some links you might find helpful. I own ALL of these. I highly recommend them.
My next goal is to keep you posted on my progress.
