Disney Springs with the Baby

I've been in that new mom fog... feeling trapped in my house, lonely, bored, covered in baby vomit. One day, when I could stand it no longer, I called my sister and asked if she'd be interested in meeting up at Disney Springs one day soon. As luck would have it, she and her wife had a Disney trip planned for the near future, and they'd be thrilled to spend a day at Disney Springs with us. YAY!

We picked an excellent day. The weather was perfect - a cool breeze, not too hot, not too cold. The spring break crowds had not yet descended on Walt Disney World. Seriously, I don't know how or why, but it worked out better than I could have hoped.

I knew it was going to be a good day when we pulled into the parking garage and there were plenty of spots available on the second level (this is the level with the pedestrian bridge to get into Disney Springs). We parked and waited for my sisters.

Once my sisters arrived, we all headed toward the World of Disney store. This might be my favorite store at Disney Springs. It's enormous. Reagan was on the hunt for a new backpack bag to use as her everyday bag.
Both boys hated it. Riley is always a pill when we are shopping - even shopping at Disney. Remy wanted to be held the entire time. He would have none of his stroller. While Jackie and Meghan were in line to purchase stuff, I took my babies outside. Riley said, "You know, Disney has the best popcorn." So naturally, we had to buy some.

No real plan, just wander and meander.

Next we hit up the LEGO store. It is a must-see when we are at Disney Springs. And it is the one store that Riley does not complain throughout.

I thought he might pick a set out to spend his money on, but nothing really stuck out to him.

We had a good time though... wandering around, dreaming of buying huge, intricate, expensive sets.

The LEGO store has several humungous LEGO creature sculptures. The kids posed with Hulk and the sea monster outside. Can you see Riley's face in the Hulk photo? He is such a character. Always.

Cupcakes on My Mind

I have been dying to try the cupcake ATM at Sprinkles. Ok, not dying, but I do love cupcakes. The prospect of getting cupcakes via an ATM machine was enough to spark the attention of my sisters.

The machine did not disappoint.

It's really simple. And fun.

You walk up (wait in line if you must). On the touch-screen, pick your cupcake poison. Swipe your credit card when you have finalized your order. Anxiously wait (only a few seconds) for the cupcake door to open. Reach in, grab your boxes. Do a happy, cupcake dance. Snap a couple pics for Instagram.

After our cupcakes, we needed lunch. Obviously.

Riley and Reagan wanted to try the T-Rex restaurant. We usually eat at the Rainforest Cafe, so it was nice to try something new.

As a food allergy mama, I appreciate when a chef will come out and talk to us at the table. Disney is so good about this. It really takes a good chunk of the fear out of trying something new. Riley is (rightfully) quite hesitant to try new food spots. It helps him too, to know that the people in the kitchen know what will kill him and they will avoid it. He asked the chef if the kids' cheeseburgers and fries would be ok, the chef said "For sure Bud, I'll make you delicious sliders and fries." Riley ate them all.

I had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was incredible. But huge... so if you want to share with someone, go for it. You definitely get your money's worth with this one.
None of us ate a salad or anything lite... so we really needed to walk it off. Hahaha.

We spent the remainder of our time walking in and out of shops. Then it was time to drive home. It was a magically perfect Disney day.
