Last weekend the kids, my mom and I went to Disney. It was an early birthday celebration for Reagan. She really wanted to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Walt Disney World is quite busy during December. But, with the help of a great cast member on the phone, we were able to book a two-night stay at the Coronado Springs Resort. This was our first time at this Resort, so the kids were pretty excited to check it out.
The Resort is undergoing major renovations at the moment (December 2017). Although, it looks like they are on the end of it. There were adorable construction pins in the room for the kids. Reagan was ecstatic - she collects those things.
Coronado Springs is just like Port Orleans Resort. Except it has a Spanish flavor, not French. The registration room was gorgeous. The kids were in love with the enormous Christmas tree at the far end of the room.
While I was checking us in, Mom took the kids around. I found them in the cafeteria - or Pepper Market. I am sorry to report that we did not actually eat here at all this trip. The menu looked delicious, but we were only around the hotel for breakfast. For that, we opted for the quick service Rix Lounge. Riley had spied Froot Loops in it at check-in, so that's where we ate.
Our room was in building 8B... quite close to the construction zone. But it didn't bother any of us.
Again, our room reminded me of Port Orleans. The beds were comfortable. The pillows are bigger and better than the ones you get at the All Stars (FYI).
Right outside of our room was a beach. Complete with hammocks. Of course, you cannot go into the water at all - there are signs everywhere to remind out-of-staters of our gator population. My kiddos had a BLAST playing in the sand and chilling on hammocks. I could have spent the better part of a day on that hammock. Maybe we should get one for our backyard. Hmmm....
I guess the only real downside to this hotel is the distance to the Parks. Yes, the buses do come to the Resort. The Resort has 4 bus stops. We chose to drive to the Magic Kingdom for the Very Merry Party and to Disney Springs.
I would stay in this hotel again.
What's your favorite Disney Resort? Have you tried this one yet?
