This past weekend was full and awesome.
We spent Saturday bumming around in the morning. When Stu went off to his men's meeting at church, the kids and I jumped in the pool. It was one of those days where the monsters are like oil and water. They just weren't keen on getting along. Honestly, it was super annoying. So the pool didn't last as long as I had hoped. Oh well. After dinner that night, we decided to light the fire pit. It's a new addition to the back patio. We do so love to roast marshmallows. ![]()
Sunday was standard in the morning. We went to church, as we do every week. The afternoon was a bit rainy. The kids and I snuggled on the couch to watch a marathon of Phineas and Ferb. Netflix, on AppleTV, is such a wonderful thing!
I LOVE these moments. Rea is halfway to 9, and I don't get this much with her anymore. So I will take them when I can get them! Laundry can wait. Dinner preparations can wait. This is the stuff I live for.
But, nothing lasts forever. And eventually we stopped being potatoes.
My Aunt Vickie was in town, helping out with my Poppy. They came over for a burger bbq.
Monday was a blur. The kids were practicing for summer - they were in their pajamas and bathing suits more than daytime clothes. Steph came over to get something and brought one of her dogs. This, I think, was the highlight of Rea's weekend. She adores Lexi.
Buddy did not want to go swimming. He's been doing this lately - where he will complain and complain about how much he dislikes the pool, then 30 minutes later, he's splashing around like a maniac in it. I've learned to just let him mope. But I make him mope outside.
