I've recently been consciously planning things for Rea and I to do alone. We went for mani/pedis one morning. We went on a trip to the bookstore another. Things like that. Sometimes it is really hard to give each kid the individual attention they seek.
She has been doing great in school. Her homework isn't an issue anymore. And her puff jar is filling quickly. So my parents asked if they could take her with them to Tennessee.
Stu and I said ok. So, on Thursday, Rea was picked up from school early and she flew with Grammie and Grandpa to TN. They were going to pick up my Aunt - the kids call her Little Aunt Debbie.
Rea had a total blast. She adores Little Aunt Debbie. And probably a bit more than that, loves her cousins Alex and Sammy. Rea's been on this kick of wanting to be an actress. And she also watches this little girl on YouTube who does amazing Monster High makeup videos. In fact Rea is working toward a makeup set from me. That's what she decided ahead of time for a full puff jar (this time, last time she earned the Sims 4). Anyway, apparently while they were in Tennessee they came across a Monster High makeup box. So it was a night spent using it!
They came home the next day. Since the weather was so terrible, they couldn't stop in Gainesville as originally planned to pick up Aunt Jack and Aunt Meghan. Bummer. I'm just happy they made it home at all. The sky was fairly relentless here on Friday. I'm also grateful that the bad weather didn't freak Rea out... she told me "it was crazy rainy, but fun. There was one time that everyone's butts lifted off the seats." I think Stu turned green just hearing it. =) Buddy laughed.
All in all Grammie said it was a great trip. Rea had a fantastic time being the girl of the hour.
