This week Rea has to be "Scientist for the Day" in her class. Each student was given a topic. Their assignment was to create a science board and visual to teach their assigned topic to the class.
Rea was given Force and Motion. She decided to find out how an airplane lifts off the ground. She and Grandpa built a wind tunnel to test find the answer to her question: "How does an airplane fly?" This turned out WAY better than I ever expected! Rea worked very hard on this project for nearly a week. Keep reading for more pics.
Rea and Grandpa made this incredible working wind tunnel. This will show the students how the right amount of airflow will counteract the force of gravity on the wing and lift it. Not enough airflow from the fan won't do the job, just like too much airflow will cause the wing to flip over.
And her poster looks amazing thanks to our Cricut! This was my Christmas gift from Stu. I love it! Rea had lots of fun picking out the font and clip art styles. She learned to load the machine and how to apply vinyl to the poster board.
