Our bags are packed. The weather is perfect for flying. Let's go!

Buddy loves the snow. He loves colder weather. And so every year, he asks to be in the snow for his birthday. When we can, we like to make his wish come true.

This year, we missed the snow by about 5 days. That was kind of annoying. The birthday boy was not pleased. After he got over his initial disappointment, he had a blast.

Buddy was outrageously excited to get moving. Rea, not so much. She was sad we had to leave Dad behind. I am happy that she smiled nicely for the nose picture I insist on taking each trip.

All buckled up and ready to go.

We had the cutest copilot on the way up to NC! Buddy takes his job VERY seriously.

Not So Much Snow Carolina...

Picture
The most snow we saw was at the airport. They had it piled up. The kids were thrilled to see it, run over to it, jump on it.

Our first order of business was to drive out to Grammie and Grandpa's new property. My parents closed on their retirement property recently, and we were VERY excited to go see it! Buddy is planning his 9th birthday to be held at the new house. (You officially have a construction deadline Grandpa.)

The kids with Grammie and Grandpa are standing where the living room will be (I think).

Grandpa was very happy to find a tiny snowball on his new land!
Obviously we couldn't stay at Grammie's, as there is no house there yet. Once we got to our home for the next few days, the kids played in the ditch snow with Grandpa while Grammie and I went to the grocery store. There was enough snow in the ditches to make a small snowman. We named him Bartholomew. He was gone by the next morning... =(

Okie dokie... That's enough for now. See you next time for more of our North Carolina trip.
