The Christmas season is in full swing here. Except that it is so hot out still. I find it difficult to really get into the spirit - or love Christmas music - when it's 85 outside. But, whatevs... that's south Florida.
Stu and Rea build a gingerbread man or house every year together. It's their thing. It's adorable. It's delicious looking. This year, our biggest challenge has been keeping Buddy away from it. He really wants to take a big bite out of it.
Caroling Around Town
This was our first year heading up the kids singing at church. It's a longstanding tradition. The kids in the congregation (and any friends who want to join) drive around one Sunday afternoon and sing Christmas carols to members of our church who don't get out much anymore. I did it when I was a tween. Now it's kind of cool (kind of makes me feel old) to head it up.
We took our massive group of monsters (yep, all 3) to lunch and then drove around spreading Christmas cheer! We had the help of two wonderful ladies. They were invaluable to me this year.
Buddy was VERY unhappy at the first house. He actually pouted and stomped his feet. When I pulled him aside to talk to him, he said, "You didn't even ASK me if this is what I wanted to do today!"
He cooled off at the second house - home to his favorite (sorry everyone else) peeps. Then he realized he didn't just have to sing, he could PERFORM. And perform he did. Each house got more and more of a Buddy show.
There is little I like more than a holiday! Something about the energy of the day makes me giddy.
