As it turns out, I should have had more faith in Disney. They seemed to have worked out the kink. We were literally next door and across the street from all 5 of the Girl Scout cabins.
This worked out perfectly for my helicopter parent needs. I was able to spy on them from the window of my cabin. I could not fall asleep knowing that the girls hadn't come back yet from the campfire movie... So I stayed up (even though my sisters were trying to sleep in the front room) and kept looking out the window. Once I saw Rea walk down the street, I got up and went to bed.
I seriously have a problem. Rea would be horrified to know that. Stu laughed at me and just shook his head when I relayed the story to him.
#54 - When I was booking the FastPasses earlier, I asked Buddy what he wanted to ride at Animal Kingdom. He loves the Kali River Rapids - and on a super hot Florida day, so does everyone else. I booked that one for the end of the day, around 4pm. I also snagged seats on the Kilimanjaro Safari. I figured Buddy would enjoy it. So the last choice was his to make. I thought he was too short for Expedition Everest, so I didn't offer it as an option.
I asked if he'd be interested in Dinosaur. He wanted to know what it was. I showed him the Disney description:
#105 - After Dinosaur, Buddy wanted an ice cream. Is there a better way to cool down? I haven't found one. We went to a kiosk to order one Mickey ice cream and one water. I opened my purse and panic struck. Remember what I did this morning?
Yep, I forgot to take my wallet OUT of the console in my car. I am mortified and a bit panicked because I literally have NO MONEY in the Animal Kingdom. I tell the woman that I cannot buy the stuff because I am an idiot and left my wallet in the car. I am sorry. She tells me to take the ice cream anyway so my boy can have it. I fall in love with her instantly. And this renews my love (not that it has ever wavered) for Disney. They have incredible cast members.
Don't worry about our hydration. We found a VERY cold water fountain and stood by it for a solid 30 minutes. We filled up the water bottle we had carried into the Park, drank from it, poured it on each other, filled it up again and repeated the process. We even let other people use our water fountain. We are nice like that.
